Everyone thought Sirius would be an alpha. 

He was intimidating, piercing grey eyes and a sly smile and magic that was too fast and fierce for anyone to combat. He stopped coming to dueling club in fifth year, tired of winning, but he would always accept a challenge, and had wiped the floor with anyone brave or stupid enough to try. The atmosphere shifted when he came into a room, like he had a denser center of gravity than everyone else, and the world orbited towards him. He was, of course, fey and beautiful and elegant, with fine wrist bones and delicate hands, but most people missed those details, enamored with his power. 

Remus did not.
